Althusser Quote
"Marx did not "say everything," not only because he did not have the time, but because to "say everything" makes no sense for a scientist: only a religion can pretend to "say everything." On the contrary, a scientific theory, by definition, always has something else to say, since it exists only in order to discover, in the very solution of problems, as many, if not more, problems than it resolves."

I've been thinking (well...mostly just today) about perhaps doing an independent study on Susan Bordo and Judth Butler, just so that I can have a chance to read all of the works they have written and perhaps be more prepped for my comp. But then I would have to put off my comp to second semester, which I guess doesn't really matter.

"something profound was here"
A nuts-and-bolts kind of girl.
A kind of girl that many men in her time
had tried to fix
with their grandfather's tools
only to see her
fall back apart,
like wood rotten through that refuses to hold
nails and screws
cause she's been screwed before.
like a child's healthy flesh
that forces out any foreign body
a splinter.
a piece of glass.
A dying body that rejects a fresh transplant
a new liver ( too much booze)
a new heart (too much self-sacrifice).
A little girl who split her own stitches
to let her wounds gape out.
